Parent Consultations

Support for parents who want to better understand their children

Providing calm, practical guidance to help parents navigate challenging moments at home.

One-to-one online parent consultations by Kirthika Raj, Assistant Psychologist.

When things at home feel difficult

Many parents notice that certain aspects of daily life feel more challenging than they should.

Your child may:

  • Cry often or become upset easily
  • Become very quiet and struggle to express how they're feeling
  • React strongly to minor issues
  • Be constantly active, restless, or unable to settle
  • Have difficulty communicating their needs
  • Find school or daily routines tough to manage

During these times, parents often feel confused, worried, or uncertain about what steps to take next. Most parents are doing their best. Sometimes, all they need is a safe space to talk things through with someone who works regularly with children and families.

That's exactly what Willow Path offers.

What I offer

One-to-one online parent consultations designed to support and guide parents through challenging moments.

These sessions help parents:

Make sense of their child's behaviour
Understand potential reasons behind what they're observing
Learn practical strategies to try at home
Consider helpful next steps
Feel more confident when talking to schools or other professionals

Importantly, the goal is not to judge parents or label children, but to build understanding, strengthen the parent-child relationship, and empower parents with the tools they need to navigate everyday challenges.

Important to know

This consultation is not a diagnostic assessment.

It offers:

  • Guidance and practical ideas
  • An opportunity to discuss concerns
  • Suggestions for next steps
  • Signposting to schools, therapists, or organisations if needed

It's simply a space to talk with someone who works with children, families, and schools every day.

About Kirthika Raj

I am an Assistant Psychologist currently working in school settings.

My role involves supporting children, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to better understand children's behaviour and emotional experiences.

I work with children aged 6 to 18 years and regularly support families trying to understand their child's needs.

I also have experience working with young adults experiencing homelessness, helping them understand themselves and rebuild stability in their lives.

I am a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).

My approach is child-centred, parent-supportive, and practical, focusing on helping families gain clarity and confidence as they move forward.

How the consultation works

  1. Free 15-minute introductory call

A brief conversation to understand your concerns and determine whether this support would be beneficial.

  2. Parent consultation session

A one-to-one online session where we discuss what has been happening and explore possible ways to move forward.

  3. Follow-up conversation Optional

If needed, a follow-up session can be scheduled to review progress and discuss next steps.

The goal

My goal is straightforward: to help parents better understand their children.

When parents have a clearer understanding, they can respond in more supportive ways, build stronger relationships, and create a calmer home environment.

Children also benefit when they feel understood.
